Warren Central High School’s Head Coach Resigns

Warren Central High School’s Scott Heady (45) resigns as boys basketball coach. Heady resigned after 13 seasons and is reporting its time to approach other professional opportunities in front of him. Heady announced this Thursday after compiling a 191-104 record with the Warriors that included Marion County, sectional and regional titles in the 1999-2000 season.

“This is something I’ve been thinking about for a while,” Heady said. “It was a tough decision, but it was just the right time. I have my administrator’s license now, and I might want to look at some other things.” Heady said he might consider coaching again at some time, but as of right now he plans to stay at Warren Central as the chairman of the school’s health and physical education department.

“The things I’m most proud of are the consistency we’ve had in the program and the fact we sent 60 of 63 seniors to college,” Heady said. “We averaged 15 wins per season against a schedule that usually was ranked in the top five (in the state). While we would like to have had more tournament success, we were real close — just a possession here or there — in several years.”
