IndyStar reports, even though we heard rumors earlier this month, Park Tudor, in Indianapolis, is letting Mike Hasch go.
Mr. Hasch attended Purdue University and received a B.A. in communications from IUPUI. He holds a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of Phoenix and a Certificate in Athletic Administration from the National Federation of High School Sports. Mr. Hasch has worked at numerous sports camps including Purdue and Butler, and as a substitute teacher. In 2005 he was named assistant athletic director and head coach for varsity boys’ basketball.
Mike Hasch was at the school for 11 years, he served as a teacher, coach and athletic administrator at Park Tudor. His 11 years are now up, the school has decided to fire him as a teacher, assistant athletic director and most of all their coach.
“My feelings are confusion and a lack of understanding,” Hasch said. “There was no real A, B, C (for the decision). What I’ve been able to decipher is that I’m not in the future of the direction the school wants to go with the athletic department. “That’s difficult to swallow because I cherished my time here.”
Mike had a 32-35 record in three seasons as coach, as Park Tudor. The Panthers went 9-12 in his first season, then won their second sectional title in ‘07. A senior-dominated team went 10-11 this season.
Hasch said he hopes to find an assistant athletic director position in the Indianapolis area and would like to be an assistant basketball coach at that school. Could he possibly get a spot at Warren Central? Seems doubtful, but we’ll keep you updated.
