MARION — Mr. Basketball Tyler Zeller of Washington had 28 points and nine rebounds to lead the Indiana Senior All-Stars past the Junior All-Stars, 114-83, Wednesday night.
The Seniors had 31 assists and shot a blistering 52 percent from the field to sweep the two-game exhibition series against their Junior counterparts. The Seniors won 93-91 in Washington Monday night.
Edgewood’s Garrett Butcher came off the bench to score 11 points in 23 minutes for the Seniors. The Butler-bound Butcher hit 5 of 8 from the field and had five rebounds.
The Seniors actually trailed 5-0 before getting going. They took the lead for good at 8-7 on a jumper by Zeller, who had 16 points in the first half as the Seniors opened a 60-41 lead at the break.
Carmel’s Daniel Moore, who will walk-on at Indiana in the fall, had four points in eight minutes.
In the girls’ game, the Seniors overcame a 24-point effort by Alexandria Bentley to avenge Monday’s loss with an 85-77 win over the Juniors.
Carmel’s Danielle Havel led the Seniors with 14 points.
Bloomington North’s Alex Guyton had a team-high 12 rebounds off the bench for the Seniors. The Purdue-bound Guyton also had six points and three blocks in 18 minutes.
The games were the final tune-ups for the Indiana All-Stars before this weekend’s annual series against Kentucky. The teams meet Friday night at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis and again on Sunday in Louisville.
